Town Center
Joe's
Akikostown's lone restaurateur, Joe, owns and operates the town's premier restaurant. He serves such traditional Japanese dishes such as sunomonu, miso soup, and nigiri prepared from fresh catches (tuna, salmon, Pacific saury) along with local favorites (mushroom-stuffed quail, crab and corn chowder, braised washugyu short ribs). Joe's is open when the chef is there and closed when he is not.
Joe's Bar
Along with the restaurant, Joe owns the town's best saloon. He pours imported spirits as well as home-brewed sake, wine, and beer. The saloon is open pretty much every hour of every day so long as there is a sober(ish) person slinging drinks.
Joe's General Store
Joe rounds out his busy days by keeping watch over his namesake general store. A broad array of supplies and sundries are available for purchase during daylight hours Monday through Friday, and nearly anything can be ordered special (for a nominal fee) to be brought by the monthly post.
Joe's Boarding House
In addition to his other three thriving businesses, Joe also operates a boarding house on the second floor of the restaurant, bar, and general store building. Rooms may be rented at any hour of any day, though there may be additional fees for having to wake a bellman.
Futakuchi-onna
Owned and operated by mysterious Madame Te Kawana, this boarding house is only operational in the evening hours, and is frequented by men and women from town (even those who have homes, oddly enough). Room rates vary by length of stay.

Outlying Areas
Private Homes
Scattered around the some seventy square miles making up Akikostown proper and the outlying areas, the townsfolk have built their homes. Some people have gone or passed on, so at last count, there stood five empty homes.
Docks
Along the Pacific coast, several docks are maintained by local fishermen. They may rent out docks and mooring space to anyone interested, as well as boats and fishing necessities.
